About I.A.T.S.E. Membership

The Organization
We have over 140,000 members in the entertainment industry in Canada and the U.S.A.
Our organization has a well respected international presence.
I.A.T.S.E. offers collective representation that works to provide protection and advancement of our members’ rights.
I.A.T.S.E. members working on Union productions on average earn 20-50% MORE than workers on non-union productions.
Workplace safety is our #1 concern. We support our Members’ right to a safe environment.
I.A.T.S.E. is represented at the Canadian Labour Congress, the Saskatchewan Federation of Labour, and other labour organizations. We work within these organizations to ensure the rights of all workers in a world where many are viewed as disposable.
We advocate for respect and recognition for our members and the valuable contribution that our industries make to society.

Governance
The laws of the I.A.T.S.E. are contained in the International Constitution and Bylaws which governs the operation of the International and its relationship to the Locals and the Members.
The Locals, in turn, have Constitutions and Bylaws that govern the operation of each Local.
Membership participation and democracy are the cornerstones of the I.A.T.S.E. Our Local Unions are autonomous organizations, and as such, are free to pursue independent agendas that reflect the needs and values of their Members.
Executive Members, both of Locals and of the International are democratically elected from within the Membership.
All Members in Good Standing have the right to a voice and a vote at regular General Meetings.
